WIP: Sharing Space with Paola Estrella

Institute of Contemporary Arts

3 December, 2025

As part of Diasporas Now's year-long residency at the ICA, we're collaborating on a series of work-in-progress (WIP) performances.

The third instalment of WIP: Sharing Space is led by Paola Estrella (@py_star), a Mexico-born, London-based multimedia artist working across painting, video, installation, and performance. Estrella will be joined by ICA Creatives Elie Arden (@elie.arden), Jiho Lee (@whataholiday.jiho) and Sofia Pomeroy (@sofipomeroy).

They collectively presented a performance about process - shaped by opacity, becoming, layering, and transitions that emerged through collaborative making, followed by a conversation about the artist’s practices inspired by translation, shifting, resisting, and weaving meaning.

WIP: Sharing Space highlights the importance of engaging with work that is unfinished and in progress. It celebrates dialogue and collaboration, inviting feedback from audiences and fostering conversations between artists. For this year’s edition we are pairing ICA Creatives with artists from Diasporas Now to encourage skill-sharing, mentorship, and creative exchange among emerging artists.

Diasporas Now x ICA programmes are in media partnership with AnOther Magazine, and programmed by curator Hannah Geddes.
